Stand-up paddleboarding, or SUP, originated in Hawaii. Top surfers use it to keep fit in calm seas. Stand-up paddleboarding allows you to move quickly across the water in a comfortable position on a large, wide and thick surfboard that is very stable.
The standing position offers an incredible view of the shore and the seabed that other boats cannot provide. Swimming is not permitted on Lake Monteynard. However, you can cool off at the water’s edge.
It’s easy: learning is simple, quick and fun. All you need to know is how to swim. It can be practised at any age. It’s a sport: it also allows you to gently tone your body in a natural position, all in the open air while enjoying the scenery of our beautiful lake.
It’s a very convivial shared experience: set off to explore Lake Monteynard with friends or family. We offer a range of the most advanced stand-up paddle boards for hire. Our SUPs at the Camping de la Plage – Alpes, Vercors et Trièves campsite are Surfpistols, one of the world leaders in inflatable SUPs. They offer excellent glide, are lightweight, durable and have a real surfboard look.
This activity is best enjoyed in the morning when the lake is calm. Whether you want to try out a SUP for an hour or spend the day paddling, we have a fleet of 4 Surfpistol SUPs suitable for all sizes.
2026 prices: £15 per hour – £30 for half a day – £50 for a full day.
